Help - Help for Hydraulics Calculations

Basic steps to start making Hydraulic Calculations and most common issues found

when installing the program or when using it.

1. Program installation:

For Windows XP and up.

Unzip the file HydCalc 2.zip. Once unziped, you should see a window like this:

Run “setup.exe”.

If you have an internet connection, “setup.exe” will download and install “dotnetfx35setup.exe” from Microsoft.

If “setup.exe” ask for “VisualBasicPowerPacks3Setup.exe” or “Hydraulic Calculations 2.0 fails to launch, install it and run setup again.

2. How to use “Hydraulic Calculations 2”:

You can select from 3 tabs, cylinder, motor, gear pump.

Cylinder:

Depending on which variable you are looking for, select among “ pressure- flow”, “ force-time” or “ displacement”

Lets say that you are looking for the force exerted by a cylinder with certain diameter at certain pressure. So, select “ force-time”. Enter those values and press calc. Your results will appear in red.

You can select between standard or metric units at any moment. If in doubt, press clear and start again.

Motor or Pump:

Depending on which variable are you looking for, select among “pressure-flow”, “torque-RPM” or “displacement”.

Lets say that you are looking for the maximum speed that a motor can run at if it has certain displacement and you feed it with a certain flow. Select “torque-RPM”, enter displacement and flow and hit “calc”.

Switch between standard or metric units at your convenience.

All the calculations are theoretical, efficiencies of components are not included.
